Ethics complaints must be filled with the REALTOR® Association of the Fox Valley, Inc. within one hundred eighty days (180) from the time a complainant became aware or reasonably should have known that potentially unethical behavior took place.
When you contact the RAFV office you will be sent an Ethics Complaint Form and a copy of the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and asked to return it with a chronological chain of events citing the alleged article(s) and why you feel those article(s) were violated. Only Articles can be cited. Standards of Practice are noted to further support the basis of the violation(s). Once the completed paperwork is received by RAFV, a Grievance Committee will meet to determine, if based on the facts as presented, there is an alleged violation of the Code of Ethics and the complaint should be sent forward for a Professional Standards Hearing.
